Officer Professional Military Education
International Blended Seminars

CDET is a total force educational Institution. It serves all Marines and other Service students throughout the globe regardless of component, status, or service. In cooperation with the Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group, CDET now offers total force USMC officers the opportunity to enroll in one of two programs that include international officers as well as a mix of students from a variety of federal agencies and other services. The Command and Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School International Blended Seminars deliver the entire distance education curriculum to either the CSCDEP or EWSDEP student in a single academic year as opposed to two academic years for the traditional onsite or online seminars by combining resident education periods at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia with an intervening online, non-resident period of instruction.

International Blended Seminar-participating nations have included Bahrain, Bangladesh, Canada, Iraq, New Zealand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine. In addition to the standard distance education programs for Command and Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School, U.S. and international officers alike participate in extracurricular field studies program events to include staff rides and visits to National Capital Region sites which are representative of our culture, national heritage, and government institutions. Graduates of the International Blended Seminars participate in their associated resident college or school graduation ceremony and will have their diplomas presented by a distinguished guest, the President of Marine Corps University, and either the Director of the CDET or the Director of Expeditionary Warfare School.

CSCDEP International Blended Seminar

The CSCDEP International Blended Seminar construct is an initial resident period of 5 weeks which delivers two courses. The online seminar includes three courses and last for 28 weeks. Students then return to MCB Quantico for a final resident period of 6 weeks beginning in April. The students receive the final three courses during this final resident period and then participate in the resident graduation ceremony. CSCDEP International Blended Seminar graduates are JPME Phase I complete. For questions regarding the CSCDEP International Blended Seminar, contact the CSCDEP International Military Student Officer.
