Officer Professional Military Education
Weekend Seminars
The Weekend Seminar Program represents an opportunity for all officers to take advantage of weekend hours to complete
their PME. The program offers two types of seats, funded for
reserve officers and unfunded for active duty officers.
The primary attendees will be reserve officers, but not exclusively. Active Component officers are also eligible on a
space available basis.
The Weekend Program construct is 18 months in length, Oct to June, for two (2) nine-month semesters. This construct is
an academic mirror image of the more traditional weekday programs convening routinely in the evening aboard Marine
Corps Installations.
The CSCDEP Weekend
Seminar Program maintains joint professional military education (JPME) Phase I accreditation through the
PAJE.
Student Enrollment
Marines should contact their respective Regional Coordinators so they can enroll
in online seminars. Online seminar enrollment places personnel in position to enter a funded slot should one become available and allows
students to earn retirement points for each completed course.
MARADMIN 392/11 (42 KB) provides application guidance and minimum qualifications for personnel seeking
funded orders for the formal full-length schools, as well as the Weekend and Blended Command and Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School
Distance Education Programs. Per the MARADMIN, the application deadline was 16 September 2011 for student submissions to Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
Mid-year enrollments will be allowed on a case by case basis. This decision takes into consideration the high optempo among all Marine Corps
Officers, and it is clear that a more flexible enrollment process will enable the stability of student throughput. Interested officers can apply
for funded seats by submitting an enrollment
form (127 KB) to the CDET
Reserve Liaison Officer (RLO). Enrollment forms are screened
to ensure the student meets the enrollment eligibility criteria set forth by MCO P1553.4A, and
PME policies set forth by CDET and the Marine Corps University.

Additional Information
Seminar numbers and site locations remain undermined until August 2012. The process of determining seminar locations is
a collaborative one between Marine Forces Reserve (MFR) G3T and CDET. MFR
facilitates the attendance of screened Individual Ready Reserve officers, while
SMCR and IMA
officers go through their units to obtain funded orders in the programs. MFR
funds the weekend seminar program. The CDET Reserve Liaison Officer serves as the central point of contact for the
EWSDEP and
CSCDEP weekend seminar programs.
The CDET provides certified faculty to instruct both the
EWSDEP and
CSCDEP
through its Regional Coordinators.
The RCs provide students with administrative support in the form of grade
posting, remediation, diplomas, and ensuring the quality of instruction meets expectable standards.
